Margaret's dream is to build meaningful relationships and provide for the educational and spiritual needs of the children and families involved with ChildCARE Plus Guatemala.
Ministry focus: More than half of Guatemala's 17 million people live below the poverty line, and many families cannot afford school uniforms, supplies, or the tuition that most secondary schools require — so many students do not continue past grade six. Margaret is joining fellow global workers Hector and Ruth Aragon to help run ChildCARE Plus Guatemala, which reaches over 500 children across 17 locations. She is focusing first on learning the language so she can connect with the children and families in their heart language, and assists with administration, social media, hosting short-term teams, and summer camps.
Ministry history: Margaret served as a children's director for 12 years, overseeing newborn-to-grade-six programs, and earned a Diploma in Bible Studies from Emmanuel Bible College. She has taken part in many short-term mission trips, including six previous trips to Guatemala.
